Q: What do I need before I purchase the MiFi 2352?

A: You must have a pre-paid or contract SIM/USIM card from one of the aforementioned providers with activated mobile internet service. If you have an internet card in your smart phone, USB dongle or data card, you can use it.

Q: How do I set up the Mifi 2352:

  • If your carrier is not listed in the default options on the device, contact your SIM provider and ask for an APN#.
  • To set up WiFi, pick a name (SSID) and password for everyone who needs to access your WiFi network.
  • If you will be using this device indefinitely, configure it first and then connect it to the AC electrical charger.

Q: Which Web UI network technology is programmable with my MiFi?

A: Firmware 5.15 network technology is only programmable in Mobilink3 software. If you want to change the software, upgrade to version 5.21 or later.

Q: How secure is the MiFi?
A: According to Novatel Wireless, “Data received or sent through the MiFi® device is secure. The potential for limited manipulation of the MiFi® exists only when a user surfs to a malicious web site, stays connected to that site and the GPS in the MiFi® is activated. In this case, a hacker could potentially change MiFi® settings, but the hacker would only obtain location information about the MiFi® device and would only have such information while the MiFi® stayed connected to the malicious site. Even while a MiFi® user was connected to a malicious site, the hacker would NOT obtain access to the user’s personal data, the user’s PC or any other devices connected to the MiFi®. Once the user leaves the malicious web site no malware remains on the MiFi® device.”
